Kuenselphodrang, or Buddha Point is famous for the world’s largest Sakyamuni Buddha Statue at 51.5 meters high and perched on a mountain top. As a pilgrimage landmark, it is now a focal point for all Buddhists around the world to come and offer prayers. The gorgeous panoramic view of Thimphu valley also draws photographers for sunrise captures, and residents on a daily basis who exercise and walk up the mountain. By car, it is less than a 10 minute drive away from The Pema.
